Spelling Practice Ideas

Flash Card Fun Make a set of flash cards with your words. Practice spelling each word 3 times.	Word Pyramids Write each word in pyramid form: c ca cat cats	Super Sentences Write a sentence using each spelling word. Underline your spelling word in the sentence.
Jumping Jack Spelling Say your word, then spell it while doing a jumping jack for each letter. Say the word again after you spell it. Repeat with each word.	Rainbow Writing! Write each word with a pencil 3 times in a row. Then go over it with a crayon or marker, using a different color each time.	Spelling City Go to SpellingCity.com, type in your spelling words to practice.
ABC Order Put all of your words in ABC order.	Senses Spelling Put a layer of salt (or rice) on a baking sheet or in a large Ziploc bag then spell each word aloud while “writing" with your finger. You can also try shaving cream!	Vowels & Consonants Write each spelling word in pencil. Then use markers or crayons to trace over consonants with blue and vowels with red.
